Let’s get started!

1.  Cherry Blossom Theme

Floral themes make for such beautiful bullet journal layouts! To recreate a floral theme, you could add some floral doodles to your layout, or stickers of cherry blossoms for instance. See the image below for further inspiration, it comprises of beautiful flower stickers, alongside some glorious cat stickers too!

When working on a floral theme, pastel highlighters can work beautifully, as shown in the image below. A dash of pink or pastel teal highlighter can work wonderfully with floral themes, so I’d definitely recommend trying it out! It’s a cool combination that works great!

2. Blue Theme

If you’re a fan of the blue aesthetic in general, then you could create an entire theme from this one colour! Simply add blue-themed washi tape, photos and stickers to your layout. For example you could add pastel blue washi tape to the edges of your journal, and then add some cloud stickers to the corners of the page. If you have photos of the ocean or skies, these could work beautifully too!

In the example image below, you’ll see how the blue pastel highlighter is a great addition to the top of the layout, while the blue plant illustration adds a lovely point of interest.

3. Pastel Highlights

If you’re looking for cute title inspiration, a cool trick is to add some lettering and then highlight over the lettering with a pastel pink highlighter. It makes for a glorious combination, and is a truly chic effect!

You can see the examples below for further inspiration! Notice how the pastel highlights gorgeously complement the intricate lettering.

4. Pastel Pink Theme

One of my favourite colours out there is pastel pink, and this glorious colour could most certainly be incorporated into a bullet journal and turned into a theme of its own!

This super cute bullet journal idea will certainly add a beautiful and aesthetic touch to your journal, so I’d definitely recommend giving it a try! You could add pastel highlights, letterings with pastel brush pens and floral stickers too. Photos of pink skies would also look amazing in this theme too!

5. Cute, Minimal Theme

If you want to focus on text rather than visual aesthetics for a layout (if you have a lot of text to include in a spread, for instance), you could try recreating a minimal theme instead. Minimal themes only consist of a few elements, which work in tandem with the layout’s text to create a great bullet journal spread.

In the example below, kraft paper and washi tape is used in a minimal fashion, leading to a super aesthetic layout!

6. Plant Illustrations

Plant illustrations and doodles are always a super cute addition to bullet journals, and you can learn how to add these on Pinterest. I’ve seen so many tutorials there, which helped me get started with drawing various types of plants and flowers in my journal. You’ll see some ideas in this Pinterest board I’ve created, so make sure to take a look for some amazing flower doodle tutorials for all skillsets, no matter whether you’re a beginner or advanced!

I’ve also added a photo below, which showcases some gorgeous plant illustrations which should help inspire you!

7. Kraft Theme

Kraft paper can be a fantastic addition to bullet journal layouts, and can add a cute, vintage effect to layouts too!

You could also incorporate stamps or illustrations into your layout, by drawing or stamping designs onto the kraft paper. You could also overlay vintage flowers onto the paper too, which leads to a beautiful combination.

In the example below, you’ll see beautiful examples of lettering which are overlayed onto the kraft paper.

8. Nature Theme

To recreate a nature theme, you could create a cool collage of nature photos, either from your own gallery or from free photo sites such as Unsplash! They have gorgeous nature imagery there, from soaring mountains to sparkling waterfalls. By combining these together, you’ll create such a beautiful theme!

There’s an example below to help inspire you! The cute owl photo is absolutely adorable, and adds such a beautiful dimension to the layout overall! For nature photos and stickers, I’d recommend heading over to Etsy and you’ll find plenty of cute polaroid stickers inspired by nature.

Clouds, beaches and sunsets also look gorgeous in bullet journal layouts too. I always adore gazing at aesthetic cloud imagery and beautiful sunsets within my bullet journal, and I’ve always been such a fan of adding these to my layouts!

9. Vintage Ephemera

Vintage ephemera, such as retro stickers and so forth, can make a lovely addition to layouts, or you could even create vintage themes using these too!

I’ve provided some examples of glorious vintage ephemera, which came together in a pack of vintage stickers I bought. You can purchase these from Etsy (for the pack below, the option is called Literary Drawing), I’d really recommend them, they’re simply superb! This particular pack has so many beautiful designs, and I absolutely love all of them! Plus they’re stickers too, so you simply have to peel off the backing and you can stick these in your journal quickly and easily.

10. Color Swatches

Color swatches can be a beautiful addition to any bullet journal layout. To add these, simply count the main colours in a given layout, and pick the most prominent five or six. You could then get a marker which most closely matches this colour, and add a colour swatch which comprises the colors.

There’s an example of this below, where the color swatch complements the flower painting so wonderfully.

These color swatches can also provide further inspiration for the future! You could create entire themes out of each swatch, for instance! The color swatch below reminds me of the spring months, with its earthy greens and pastel pinks that are reminiscent of flowers just about to bloom!
